Tsongo Women's Crafting Group
The Tsongo Women’s Crafting Group is a group of Artisan women across the South African region that are trying to raise the value of their products to reach new markets. The women hand weave products such as clothing, baskets, and hand tools so that they can make money to support their communities. The mark needed to be feminine and resemble the motion of weaving. It also needed to be professional enough to be recognized by partnering organizations. To see my process, please scroll to the bottom of this page.
The StyleThe organic nature of the lines in the mark calls to the materials the women use to create their products. I gave the face an earring and eyelash to give the form a more feminine feel to show customers that these are women who are creating the products. The earring is also a common accessary for these women.
